Frequently Asked Questions
How long will the shoot take?
Most shoots take about an hour but I don’t place a time limit on my shoots. Some shoots such as newborn or baby shoots, or shoots with younger children might take a bit longer as we might need to stop to change nappies or have a feed.
What happens if we have to cancel?
As a mum I totally understand that kid get sick, things come up and sometimes we just have to cancel our commitments and hunker down at home!
I’d actually prefer it if you reschedule your shoot if your child is unwell, they will just look sad and miserable in their photos. If you can give me as much notice as you can if you do have to cancel and we will book you in for another shoot at another time.
If I get sick, I’ll give you as much notice as I can and we will reschedule the shoot to another day.
I’ve booked an outdoor shoot, what happens if it rains?
If the weather is looking bad on the day of your shoot, I will give you a call to discuss how you would like to proceed. From experience, rain and wind and little kids don’t mix well! We will reschedule the shoot to another day if the weather isn’t looking too good!
When can I expect to see my photos?
You can expect to receive your online gallery 4 weeks after your shoot. You will receive an email and you will have 4 days to choose your favourite images.
After payment (if you choose to upgrade) the online images can be downloaded straight to your computer and are provided in both high resolution suitable for printing, and web size suitable for sharing online.
Can you make me look slimmer, younger or generally better looking?
I don’t do any additional editing to make you slimmer, taller, younger or better looking! I will edit out temporary blemishes - such as pimples, cuts or sores or eczema break outs.
I’ll only edit out birth marks or scars if you ask me to. I want you to look like you! Afterall, you want these photos to be a true representation of your family at this time in your life!
Plan your outfit carefully, as things like bra straps showing are very tricky to edit out and will cost an additional $25 per image.
I’m really worried my kids aren’t going to behave!
Please don’t worry about this. Your shoot is all about your kids having a good time and having fun with you.
You don’t need to tell them to sit still and smile for the camera. It’s a great idea to bring along some bribes (smarties or sultanas are a good option as they aren’t too messy!).
A lot of families I work with might promise their favourite food for dinner after the shoot.
Aside from bribery, try to enjoy the moment with your kids. Tickles and cuddles - that’s what it’s all about!
If your kids do get a bit grumpy or sad, I’ll ask you to try and keep relaxed. I know it’s tricky! But often when kids are a bit sad they cuddle close to mum and dad and I can get some beautiful shots of them cuddling you!
